“They Know It’s Going to Be Pure Hell For Anyone To Beat Them 4 Times in 7 Tries”

Another feature that 30 Missions:30 Teams will bring you all is an interview portion.

As well as analyzing every team, some teams will also get a deeper look by way of an interview of a supporter of that team.

We caught up with Gregory Quick, who is riding with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving until the clock hits double zero.

We discussed a few things pertaining to the fun that is headed to Brooklyn, what to expect from the Nets, and other teams in the division.

Here is the convo:

S&O: What is your view on Stats and Opinions’ prediction of Brooklyn finishing 4th in the Atlantic Division?

Quick: All things considered, it’s fair. Like [Stats and Opinions] said, there are regular season teams & there are the contenders. Milwaukee will most likely be the 1 seed again. Then Toronto always wins 50 plus. Brooklyn could be third in the division, though, because they may heat up at some point. On top of load management, there’s the rough patch that every team hits when multiple stars link up the first year.

This is true. Remember: Miami started its Big Three run with a record of just 9-8 through its first 17 games.

S&O: 2-4 really just two or three games apart and that’s where load management will hurt [Brooklyn]. But I doubt Nets care where they get in. I like Philadelphia though. Made the right moves and added floor spacing. But, come playoff time, I don’t want to hear any excuses about why the 76ers did not make a deep playoff run.

Quick: We also have to consider Brooklyn’s back up squad: Dinwiddie, Levert, Harris, Prince, Green, Allen, etc… they can win you games & they’ve proved that.

Now the Nets definitely don’t care what seed they are.

“They know it’s going to be pure hell for anyone to beat them 4 times in 7 tries.”

As far as Philly goes, they have to show me mental toughness & maturity. Your best players being in their early 20’s in this time is a lot different from when it was Wade, Kobe, Bron or even KD & Russ. Social media wasn’t a relevant thing so they were there to hoop, not to be cute. Ben wants to be cute & Embiid wants to be a comedian. Doc Rivers hasn’t had success w/ superstar personalities since the Big 3 in Boston & those guys held themselves accountable. They were all grown ass men who only cared about winning. It’s different in Philly.

It is safe to say the NBA’s Atlantic Division is in for a wild ride. The season tips off on December 22nd, which will feature the Brooklyn Nets on opening night.
