And the 2017 NBA Finals are officially set, although it seems this match up has been set for some months now. The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors will meet in the NBA Finals for a 3rd consecutive season.
The Cleveland Cavaliers (51-31), despite being the #2 seed, made light work of the Eastern Conference; especially in the the playoffs. Some thought that it would be a tough road for the Cavs, since they finished the regular season with a 23-23 record. The Cavaliers made light work of the Pacers, Raptors and the first-seeded Boston Celtics. posted a 12-1 record during the Eastern Conference playoffs. It was another great season LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.
This is LeBron James’ 7th consecutive NBA Finals appearance, and 8th overall.
And the Cavaliers’ opponent?
The Golden State Warriors.
The Western Conference Champions posted a NBA’s best 67-15 record. The Warriors, just like the Cavaliers, made easy work of the Western Conference. Golden State swept Portland, Utah and San Antonio. They did this while setting a NBA record for the largest margin of victory in those games. With the addition of Kevin Durant, the Warriors looks like a juggernaut ready to win its 2nd NBA Championship in three seasons.
We have exactly one week to prepare for Round 3 of the Cleveland Cavaliers vs the Golden State Warriors.
